It aims to establish efficient and timely international transport services and delivery solutions through global freight forwarder contracts and carrier MOUs, supporting an end-to-end sustainable supply chain.
Job Purpose
The Project Manager will support the ADEPT Programme's implementation in various countries, focusing on improving systems for faster importation of critical supplies, including health products and vaccines. This involves streamlining fiscal and regulatory processes and clearance requirements. The ultimate goal is to ensure the timely, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of essential goods to children and vulnerable communities worldwide, addressing bottlenecks and strengthening the overall supply chain.
Responsibilities
The Project Manager will engage UNICEF offices in selected countries to support in-country project delivery. This includes validating and establishing country-specific information and contacts, liaising with ministries of health and other government agencies to secure support and collaboration, and conducting diagnostic work to map importation processes, tax exemptions, and regulatory requirements. The role involves sourcing data to measure baseline performance and project impact, participating in project governance structures, workshops, and convenings. On mission, the Project Manager will collaborate with counterparts to streamline country importation processes, advocate for single windows, and enhance understanding of customs clearance requirements to reduce non-tariff barriers. They will also clarify financial disbursement mechanisms, establish in-country working groups, participate in public-private working groups for project sustainability, and raise awareness on the benefits of digitalization in importation processes. Strengthening partnerships by identifying key stakeholders for lobbying and collaboration is also a key responsibility.
