Job Purpose
The UNICEF Senegal Country Office's Partnerships, Advocacy, and Communications section aims to promote child rights, influence public policy, and mobilize resources through advocacy, partnerships, and strategic alliances. The intern will contribute to enhancing the organization's visibility, highlighting its interventions and donors, and engaging various audiences around childhood priorities. This role involves supporting the production of communication materials, multimedia content, and strategic communication plans to amplify UNICEF's messages and activities within Senegal and globally.
Responsibilities
Contribute to the production of communication materials (infographics, briefing notes, newsletters, social media posts) in collaboration with program teams to highlight UNICEF's interventions and amplify key messages. Participate in the production of multimedia content (videos, scripting, collaboration with videographers/photographers) for visibility campaigns. Assist in developing strategic communication plans to ensure optimal visibility for partners and enhance awareness of UNICEF Senegal's activities. Undertake field missions to support the documentation of events and programmatic interventions (photos and videos). Produce visuals and graphics on various themes according to global, regional, and national priorities and program needs. Support the update of national and international media contact lists based in Dakar and undertake field missions with media. Assist in archiving and managing photo/video banks for events and programmatic interventions. Create interactive visuals for social media and digital communication to enhance content amplification through internal UNICEF digital platforms and at national/global levels. Perform any other tasks as required by the section.
Work Experience
Previous experience (internships or volunteer work) in communication or external relations, ideally within an NGO or UN agency. Desired experience in digital communication content production and media document writing. Knowledge of or strong interest in UNICEF's mission and objectives.
Skills
