Job Purpose
The Private Sector Fundraising Officer will support UNICEF Sri Lanka's efforts to strengthen private sector fundraising and partnerships. This role involves identifying and developing opportunities with corporates, foundations, philanthropists, and business networks to diversify and expand resources for children. The position requires a hands-on approach to prospect research, partner intelligence, pipeline management, proposal development, partner engagement, stewardship, and fundraising tracking. By collaborating with programme and communication colleagues, the Officer will translate UNICEF’s priorities into relevant partnership propositions, engage with prospective and existing partners, and enhance UNICEF’s visibility within Sri Lanka’s private sector and philanthropic community. The role demands initiative, strong coordination and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple follow-up actions under guidance.
Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Chief of Communication, Advocacy and Partnerships and direct supervision of the Resource Mobilization Officer, the Private Sector Fundraising Officer will support the development and implementation of UNICEF Sri Lanka’s private sector fundraising and partnership activities. Key accountabilities include prospect research and partner intelligence, supporting private sector fundraising activities, and fostering partner engagement. The role involves providing proposal and fundraising support, managing, monitoring, and reporting on the fundraising pipeline, and assisting in the organization of private sector networking and events. Additionally, the Officer will support communications and knowledge sharing initiatives, and provide general coordination and other support as needed. This position contributes to the diversification and growth of private sector and philanthropic support for UNICEF programmes by working closely with programme sections and other relevant colleagues to identify partnership opportunities and translate programme priorities into appropriate private sector engagement and fundraising propositions.
Work Experience
One year of relevant work experience in fundraising, partner engagement, or a related field.
