Internship, Youth & Disability Inclusion
Organizational Context
UNICEF works in over 190 countries to save children’s lives, defend their rights, and help them fulfill their potential. We are committed to advancing disability inclusion, emphasizing the full and meaningful participation of persons with disabilities as a strategic priority. This initiative aims to broaden awareness and create opportunities for youth with disabilities.
Job Purpose
This special call for interest aims to establish a Youth and Disability Inclusion Internship Talent Roster for UNICEF Indonesia. The purpose is to identify motivated and qualified young people with disabilities who are interested in gaining practical experience with UNICEF and contributing their knowledge, skills, and perspectives to UNICEF's work in Indonesia. Candidates who meet the requirements may be included in this roster and considered for internship opportunities across various UNICEF Indonesia sections as organizational needs arise. This initiative supports UNICEF's commitment to disability inclusion and provides exposure to the work of UNICEF through its Internship Programme, fostering professional and personal development for young individuals.
Responsibilities
Depending on the host section and internship assignment, interns may support a range of activities. These include conducting desk research, literature reviews, and basic analysis relevant to the host section's work. Interns will assist with data collection, organization, analysis, and presentation. They will help prepare presentations, briefing materials, reports, and other documentation, as well as support programme or project documentation and knowledge management. Additionally, interns may assist with communication, advocacy, digital content, or outreach activities, and support the preparation and documentation of meetings, workshops, consultations, and events. They may also support coordination and engagement with partners and stakeholders, contribute ideas and youth perspectives to relevant UNICEF initiatives, and support administrative, operational, or programme activities. Specific activities, supervision, outputs, and duration will be established for each internship opportunity.
