Job Purpose
The International Consultant for AI Solutions for Education Data Management will support the Chief of Education in Nigeria by undertaking a comprehensive consultancy focused on enhancing education data management through Artificial Intelligence. This role involves the entire lifecycle of AI solution development and integration, from initial design and inception through to pilot testing, refinement, and final deployment. The consultant will be responsible for reviewing and improving the existing DHIS2 technical framework, building national capacity in AI-driven data management, and developing digital sector plans for performance monitoring. The ultimate goal is to leverage AI to create more effective, user-friendly digital tools for education sector management, ensuring robust data systems that support evidence-based decision-making and contribute to the realization of every child's right to education.
Responsibilities
The consultant will lead the "Inception and design" phase by defining project scope, objectives, and technical requirements for AI solutions in education data management. This includes conducting a thorough review of existing systems and identifying areas for AI integration. In the "AI development and integration" phase, the consultant will be responsible for developing and implementing AI-enabled digital solutions, including system architecture, configurations, integrations, and source code. The "Pilot and refinement" phase involves deploying pilot solutions, gathering feedback, and making necessary adjustments to optimize performance and user experience. A key responsibility is the "DHIS2 technical review and national capacity" building, which includes assessing the current DHIS2 platform, providing technical recommendations, and training national counterparts on AI tools and data management best practices. The consultant will also contribute to "Digital sector plans and performance monitoring" by developing strategies for data utilization and creating digitalized monitoring and evaluation tools. Finally, in the "Deployment and handover" phase, the consultant will ensure the successful deployment of the AI solutions and facilitate a smooth handover to national stakeholders, including comprehensive technical documentation.
Work Experience
Ten years of experience in supporting digital and data systems, software development, system architecture, configurations, integrations, and technical documentation for national data systems. Five years of experience in developing and implementing AI-enabled digital solutions and five years in data analysis, visualization, and developing user-friendly digital tools. Demonstrated experience supporting education sector management through digitalized monitoring and evaluation tools.
