Job Purpose
UNICEF Mozambique requires interpretation and translation services to support its various activities, meetings, workshops, conferences, and official communications in both English and Portuguese. The purpose of this consultancy is to identify and establish a Long-Term Agreement (LTA) with qualified and experienced service providers who can provide high-quality interpretation and translation services from English to Portuguese and Portuguese to English, on an as-needed basis, in accordance with UNICEF’s requirements and established standards. This LTA will ensure timely and accurate communication support for UNICEF's operations in Mozambique, facilitating effective engagement with stakeholders and beneficiaries.
Responsibilities
Provide high-quality translation services for various UNICEF documents, including reports, official communications, meeting materials, and workshop content, from English to Portuguese and Portuguese to English. Ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to UNICEF's style and terminology. Offer professional interpretation services during meetings, workshops, conferences, and other events, facilitating effective communication between English and Portuguese speakers. Maintain confidentiality of all translated and interpreted information. Adapt to different subject matters and technical terminology as required by UNICEF's diverse activities. Manage multiple assignments and prioritize tasks to meet agreed-upon deadlines. Collaborate with UNICEF staff to ensure the quality and relevance of translation and interpretation services. Maintain professional ethics and standards throughout the consultancy. Potentially contribute to English language training sessions or English writing skills workshops as an asset.
Work Experience
A minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience in translation and interpretation services. Experience in organizing and conducting English language training sessions and English writing skills workshops will be considered an asset.
