Job Purpose
The National Consultant will support the Ministry of Environment and INARHY in the development, validation, and financing of an Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) Plan. The consultancy aims to implement IWRM, strengthen coordination among sector actors, and support INARHY in institutionalizing the national IWRM plan. This role is crucial for advancing sustainable water resource management in Haiti, ensuring better coordination and effective implementation of policies and strategies for the benefit of the environment and the population.
Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for designing and facilitating a national training session on IWRM for institutional cadres. They will also organize and deliver regional training sessions on IWRM. A key task will be to draft and consolidate all reports from various workshops. The consultant will provide technical assistance to INARHY for the formulation and validation of the adapted national IWRM Plan. Additionally, they will technically support INARHY in planning and conducting workshops to disseminate this plan. Finally, the consultant will develop a strategic proposal for a financing model for the IWRM plan, ensuring its long-term sustainability and effective implementation.
Work Experience
Experience in integrated water resource management, project management, training facilitation, and report writing is required. Experience working with government ministries and national institutions is an asset.
