In Ghana, UNICEF cooperates with the Government and partners to advocate for children's rights, ensure equitable access to social services, and expand opportunities for children to thrive. The country programme focuses on key results for children in areas like immunization, nutrition, learning, and ending violence.

Job Purpose

The UNICEF Ghana WASH programme aims to improve access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene for children and families. A key aspect of this is generating, using, and sharing knowledge to enhance programme quality, accountability, and innovation. This internship supports the WASH section's knowledge management systems by assisting with documentation, data organization, and dissemination of information. The role will contribute to collecting, organizing, packaging, and sharing knowledge resources, supporting reporting and communication efforts to promote evidence-based programming and learning, aligning with UNICEF’s Global WASH Knowledge Management Strategy.

Responsibilities

The intern will support the strengthening of the WASH Section's internal documentation by collaborating with the WASH Team to update the SharePoint site, ensuring it functions as a reference library. This includes organizing, classifying, and regularly updating WASH programme documentation on UNICEF Ghana’s SharePoint, ensuring documents are well-labelled, tagged, and easily retrievable. The intern will assist in compiling key programme documents for uploading, maintaining the SharePoint library for accuracy and accessibility of knowledge assets like reports and case studies. They will help develop and refine folder structures and document management protocols in consultation with the WASH team and IT focal points, ensuring alignment with global and regional standards. Additionally, the intern will support the creation of an inventory of available WASH knowledge resources and track updates or gaps, and coordinate with team members to migrate, archive, or clean outdated or duplicate documents.
