We are committed, passionate, and proud of our work, viewing the promotion of every child's rights not just as a job, but as a calling. We offer diverse opportunities for professional and personal development.
Job Purpose
The consultant will provide specialized expertise in Behavioral Science and Behavioral Insights to translate findings from the Behavioral Discovery stage into practical, contextually appropriate, and testable interventions. The primary goal is to help caregivers complete their children's routine immunization journey, thereby strengthening continuity and reducing the number of zero-dose and under-immunized children in high-risk areas of southern Afghanistan. This role is crucial for the "Continuity Counts" initiative, which aims to address behavioral, social, and service-related challenges that prevent families from completing the immunization schedule.
Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for developing behavioral interventions by reviewing Behavioral Discovery findings, identifying priority barriers and enablers, and formulating clear behavioral intervention hypotheses. This includes consulting with relevant stakeholders and assessing feasibility, ethics, and inclusion. The consultant will also lead prototype development, translating intervention ideas into detailed briefs and testing questions, specifying target behaviors, audiences, mechanisms, and points in the immunization journey. Furthermore, they will provide technical guidance to a contracted design firm, reviewing concepts and drafts to ensure the intended behavioral mechanisms are preserved. Support will be provided during prototype testing, including advice on methodology, review of field feedback, interpretation of responses, and recommendations for adaptation. Finally, the consultant will refine prototypes based on testing feedback, document key learnings, refine behavioral assumptions, and develop a Theory of Change linking barriers, interventions, mechanisms, and expected outcomes.
