Job Purpose

The Division of Global Communications and Advocacy (DGCA), specifically its Website, Editorial and Governance (WEG) section, seeks a dedicated research professional to ensure the accuracy and quality of its external-facing content. This role is crucial for producing high-quality publications, advocacy materials, and web content that are evidence-based, up-to-date, and compelling. The Fact-Checking and Research Consultant will support DGCA's mission by verifying the factual accuracy of diverse communication materials, including flagship reports, web articles, video scripts, and press releases, thereby reinforcing UNICEF's credibility and impact in advocating for children's rights globally. This position contributes to maintaining UNICEF's reputation as a reliable source of information and a strong advocate for children worldwide.

The consultant will also conduct thorough background research to support the development of content produced by DGCA and in collaboration with other UNICEF divisions. Assignments will be delivered on an as-needed basis for specific projects, with a primary focus on supporting the Editorial unit, but also assisting other DGCA teams, divisions, and offices when requested and workload permits, in consultation with the LTA contract manager. The consultant is expected to use their own equipment, including laptops, microphones, and necessary software. All content and materials produced will be the property of UNICEF, and the consultant must not share them with any third party without written permission, nor use their own name or logo on the final product, ensuring only UNICEF branding is applied as required.
