Job Purpose
The Child Protection Officer will play a crucial role in coordinating the monitoring and evaluation system for a joint UNICEF-UNAIDS project in Togo, aimed at combating the worst forms of child labor, trafficking, and HIV among vulnerable children and adolescents. This position is essential for ensuring the project's success by strengthening child protection systems, preventing and combating child labor and trafficking, and improving access to HIV prevention and care services. The officer will be responsible for the quality of data, knowledge management, and accountability to beneficiaries and donors, contributing to measurable and sustainable results for children and communities.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Chief of Child Protection, the incumbent will contribute to the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of child protection programs, with a specific focus on the project to combat child labor in Togo. Key responsibilities include supporting program development and planning, managing program implementation to achieve results, providing technical and operational support, fostering networks and partnerships, and driving innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building. The role involves establishing and operating a robust monitoring and evaluation system for the entire project, enhancing data quality, availability, and utilization at all levels. The officer will ensure project results are effectively monitored and documented, meeting programmatic reporting and accountability requirements on time. Additionally, they will strengthen national capacities in monitoring and evaluation and results-based management, and document and disseminate project knowledge, innovations, and best practices.
Work Experience
At least two (2) years of professional experience in planning, management, and/or research related to child protection programs is required.
