The Youth & Adolescent Development Officer plays a crucial role in supporting the integration of adolescent and youth development and participation within the Country Programme, ensuring young people can develop skills, exercise their rights, and contribute meaningfully to society.
Responsibilities
The Youth & Adolescent Development Officer, reporting to the Programme Specialist, provides professional technical, operational, and administrative support throughout the programming process. This includes preparing, executing, managing, and implementing a variety of technical and administrative tasks to support the development and formulation of adolescent and youth development and participation programmes within the Country Programme. Key functions include supporting programme development and planning, managing programmes, monitoring progress, and delivering results. The Officer is also responsible for providing technical and operational support to programme implementation, fostering networking and partnership building, and driving innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building. The support, research, and technical analysis provided by the incumbent strengthen advocacy, planning, and formulation of youth and adolescent development programmes. The achievement of concrete and sustainable results from these programmes contributes to UNICEF's goals in the country, promoting the full and active participation of youth and adolescents in determining their essential needs, protecting their rights to a safe environment, and ensuring their survival, development, and well-being in society.
Work Experience
At least two years of relevant work experience in Social Development Planning and Management, specifically in Adolescent & Youth Development related areas, or any other related field, is required.
