Job Purpose

The purpose of this consultancy is to provide technical advice to the SDG club/ambassadors initiative, mobilized by SCMC, to strengthen the role of children in national and international programs and projects. This initiative aims to accelerate national efforts towards realizing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by empowering children and adolescents in advocacy. The consultant will support UNICEF's agreement with SCMC through the Annual Work Plan for 2026, focusing on enhancing children's and adolescents' engagement in SDG promotion and related advocacy efforts. This role is crucial for fostering youth participation in sustainable development agendas and ensuring their voices are heard in policy and program implementation.

Responsibilities

Provide expert technical advice and guidance to the SDG club/ambassadors initiative, focusing on strengthening children's and adolescents' roles in national and international programs and projects. Support the development and implementation of strategies to enhance youth advocacy for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Collaborate with SCMC and UNICEF to align the initiative's activities with the Annual Work Plan for 2026. Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and capacity-building activities for young SDG ambassadors. Develop communication materials and advocacy tools to promote children's and adolescents' engagement in SDG-related initiatives. Monitor and evaluate the progress and impact of the SDG club/ambassadors initiative, providing regular reports to UNICEF and SCMC. Foster partnerships between youth, government entities, and UN agencies to advance child rights and SDG agendas. Ensure that the initiative aligns with UNICEF's core values and commitment to child rights and protection. Contribute to the overall strengthening of UNICEF's engagement with youth in the Gulf Area Office (GAO) region.

Work Experience

Over 5 years of proven experience in child rights, SDG promotion, and training of young people.
