Job Purpose

The purpose of this consultancy is to provide crucial support to Sub-national (Provincial Education Offices) in the Papua Provinces. The role focuses on strengthening key areas of the school revitalization programme, including governance, financing, planning, data systems, and quality standards. By enhancing these components, the consultancy aims to ensure that the implementation of the school revitalization programme is equitable, efficient, and impactful, ultimately contributing to better educational outcomes for children in the region. This position requires a consultant to work remotely, based in Jakarta, for a period of 5 months.

Responsibilities

The consultant will be responsible for evaluating existing educational policies within the Papua Provinces, identifying systemic gaps, and providing actionable recommendations for improvement. A deep understanding of national education goals, public sector budgeting, and institutional funding mechanisms will be essential. The role involves gathering, analysing, and presenting educational and demographic data to inform decision-making. Significant experience working with sub-national governments, specifically Provincial and District levels, is required to facilitate effective collaboration and implementation of recommendations. The consultant will also be responsible for producing high-quality reports and documentation related to the school revitalization programme, ensuring clear communication of findings and progress to stakeholders. This includes developing strategies to enhance the governance, financing, planning, data systems, and quality standards of the programme to ensure equitable, efficient, and impactful implementation.

Work Experience

A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in education policy and planning related areas is required. This experience should demonstrate a strong understanding of the practical aspects of developing and implementing educational strategies at various levels.
