Job Purpose

UNICEF Lao PDR seeks to engage an Immunization Supply Chain Consultant to provide time-bound technical assistance to the National Immunization Programme (NIP). The consultancy will deliver defined, measurable outputs to strengthen vaccine management, logistics information systems, campaign supply-chain readiness, outbreak preparedness, monitoring and supervision, and innovative capacity building initiatives. This role is crucial for ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of vaccines to children in Lao PDR, contributing directly to improved child health outcomes and the realization of their right to health. The consultant will play a key role in enhancing the resilience and effectiveness of the national immunization supply chain.

Responsibilities

The Immunization Supply Chain Consultant will provide technical assistance to the National Immunization Programme (NIP) in Lao PDR. Key responsibilities include strengthening vaccine management processes, improving logistics information systems for better tracking and reporting, and enhancing campaign supply-chain readiness for routine immunization and supplementary activities. The consultant will also contribute to outbreak preparedness by ensuring the supply chain is robust and responsive. This involves developing and implementing strategies for effective monitoring and supervision of supply chain activities at national and provincial levels. Additionally, the consultant will support innovative capacity building initiatives for NIP staff, focusing on sustainable improvements in supply chain operations. The role requires close collaboration with government counterparts and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with national health policies and UNICEF's global immunization goals.

Work Experience

5-7 years of experience in Immunization Supply Chain and Effective Vaccine Management at the national and/or provincial level.
