Job Purpose
The consultancy aims to design and implement a comprehensive capacity building strategy in Safeguarding, including Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), for UNICEF's implementing partners and their service providers. This strategy will focus on WASH, Education, Child Protection, Health, Nutrition, and SBC/AAP sectors. The consultant will develop tools, methodologies, and resources to enhance partners' institutional capacity to prevent, identify, mitigate, and respond to safeguarding risks. This includes creating training packages for new partners, adapting specialized modules on PSEA Capacity Assessment standards, developing monitoring tools for PSEA minimum standards, and establishing methodologies for capacity assessments and institutional strengthening plans.
Responsibilities
The consultancy will support the capacity building of UNICEF's focal points and relevant staff for partner assessments and re-assessments. It will promote sustainable learning mechanisms through communities of practice, peer support, and training activities targeting inter-agency actors and humanitarian sectors. The consultant will develop tools, methodologies, and resources to strengthen the institutional capacity of partners to prevent, identify, mitigate, and respond to safeguarding risks. This includes developing training packages for new partners, adapting specialized modules on PSEA Capacity Assessment standards, tools for monitoring and tracking PSEA minimum standards, methodologies for capacity assessments and re-assessments, and institutional strengthening plans. Additionally, the consultancy will support the capacity building of UNICEF's support persons and relevant staff for conducting partner assessments and re-assessments, and promote sustainable learning mechanisms through communities of practice, peer support, and training activities for inter-agency and humanitarian sector actors.
Work Experience
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in safeguarding, child protection, GBV/PSEA, institutional strengthening, or related areas. Demonstrated experience in designing and facilitating capacity building and training processes for organizations, implementing partners, or humanitarian actors. Experience in developing tools, guides, training materials, and methodological resources.
