Job Purpose
With the upcoming opening of the UNICEF office in Mahajanga, Madagascar, this role is crucial for ensuring the effective coordination and management of the office's operational functions. The Senior Operations Associate will provide essential administrative support services, manage finance-related activities, and support the effective implementation and monitoring of funds management, budget management, and HACT activities. This position plays a key role in facilitating partnerships and capacity development, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of UNICEF's operations in the field. The role is designed to support the realization of children's rights by ensuring that operational processes are streamlined and efficient, allowing programmatic work to proceed without hindrance. The incumbent will be instrumental in providing timely and effective support across various operational domains.
Responsibilities
The Senior Operations Associate will be responsible for delivering timely and effective administrative support services to the Field Office. This includes providing comprehensive support to Field Office Finance services, ensuring accuracy and compliance. A key responsibility is to provide timely support at all stages of Field Office funds management, encompassing planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting. The role also involves supporting Field Office Budget Management, ensuring that budgets are managed efficiently and effectively. Furthermore, the incumbent will facilitate the effective implementation and monitoring of Field Office HACT activities, including partner learning and capacity development. Partnership coordination and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders will be essential. The role requires strong skills in operational coordination, organizational management, invoice processing, monitoring and evaluation, asset management, and risk management. The Senior Operations Associate will contribute to the overall operational efficiency of the Mahajanga office, ensuring that all administrative and financial processes are aligned with UNICEF's standards and contribute to achieving programmatic goals for children.
Work Experience
At least 7 years of relevant work experience in administration, operations, financial management, office administration, budgeting, procurement, logistics, travel management, vendor management, grants management, compliance, supply, or another relevant field is required. Experience in developing country contexts and providing HACT support are desirable.
