Job Purpose
The Child Protection and Rights Manager will report to the Deputy Representative and be responsible for managing and supervising all stages of child protection programmes and projects. This includes strategic planning, formulation, and delivery of concrete and sustainable contributions to national and international efforts. The role aims to create a protective environment for children against all harm and to protect their rights to survival, development, and well-being, as established under the Convention on the Rights of the Child and other international frameworks. The manager will establish plans of action and oversee work progress to ensure the achievement of programme/project results according to RBM and UNICEF's strategic plans.
Responsibilities
The Child Protection Manager will provide managerial leadership, drive programme development and planning, and ensure effective programme management, monitoring, and quality control of results. This includes offering advisory services and technical support to stakeholders. A key aspect of the role involves advocacy, networking, and partnership building to advance child rights and protection initiatives. The manager will also be responsible for fostering innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building within the child protection sector. This encompasses overseeing all stages of child protection programmes and projects, from strategic planning and formulation to the delivery of sustainable contributions to national and international efforts to protect children from harm and uphold their rights.
Work Experience
A minimum of eight years of professional experience in social development planning and management in child protection and child rights related areas at the international level is required. Strong technical expertise in national child rights instruments, policy analysis, programme development, and system strengthening is also necessary.
