Job Purpose
The consultancy will develop technological tools complementary to Guatemala's Health Management Information System (SIGSA) to strengthen the monitoring of the first thousand days of life window of opportunity. These tools will leverage locally available data to reconstruct individual trajectories and overcome limitations arising from event-based data consolidation. The objective is to generate automated alerts on the same day of information upload, enabling health teams to act promptly in key areas such as vaccination, growth monitoring, nutritional supplementation, and identity. This aims to strengthen data-driven decision-making and improve care for children during critical developmental stages.
Responsibilities
Develop and validate technological tools to complement the SIGSA for monitoring the first thousand days of life. Leverage local data to reconstruct individual trajectories and overcome data consolidation limitations. Generate automated alerts on the same day of information upload to enable timely health team action in vaccination, growth monitoring, nutritional supplementation, and identity. Strengthen data-driven decision-making and improve care for children in critical developmental stages. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective implementation and integration of the tools. Provide technical inputs and structured reports on the development and validation process. Translate technical requirements into operational functionalities. Facilitate training for health personnel on the use of the new tools. Ensure the tools are aligned with MSPAS norms and the functioning of first and second-level healthcare. Utilize Python, BigQuery, SQL, and data automation techniques for development.
Work Experience
Minimum 10 years of experience in developing or implementing information systems. Experience in health sector project implementation. Experience with health information systems (SIGSA or similar desirable). Experience in designing nominal or longitudinal systems. Experience in data analysis and indicators. Experience in system interoperability. Experience working with first-level health services.
