Job Purpose
The Digital Impact Manager will provide guidance and technical oversight to Country Offices in the identification, selection, concept design, deployment, and sustainability of Technology for Development (T4D) interventions. This role involves guiding the review of technical solutions to ensure UNICEF standards and the Technology Playbook are followed, contributing to project management processes, and generating terms of reference for vendor selection. The manager will advise on implementation strategies for digital technology initiatives, offering technical oversight, troubleshooting, and documenting challenges and resolutions. They will manage business and programme relationship services to define high-level requirements for T4D solutions, guiding their design, development, and deployment in alignment with UNICEF's Technology Playbook.
Responsibilities
The Digital Impact Manager will lead the integration of digital development and technology innovation into the programme planning lifecycle, aligning with programme priorities and participating in planning meetings to ensure T4D functional accountabilities. This includes leading the development and implementation of the technology and digital innovation strategy for the Country Office, highlighting T4D gaps, opportunities, and scale-up strategies to support Country Office priorities. The role involves co-creating strategies with section chiefs on how technology and innovation can support the country programme. Additionally, the manager will oversee quality assurance for T4D solutions, ensuring they meet UNICEF standards and contribute effectively to programme results. This includes providing technical advice and support throughout the project lifecycle, from initial concept to sustainability, and fostering a culture of innovation and digital transformation within the Country Office.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of professional experience in digital solutions implementation, technology strategy, or a related field, with at least two years at the international level. Experience in developing countries and with UNICEF or other UN agencies is an asset.
