Job Purpose
The Administrative Associate GS-6 position in UNICEF Cameroon aims to strengthen the Operations/Administration and Finance Unit by providing specialized administrative support. This role is essential for ensuring smooth, timely, compliant, and client-oriented delivery of administrative services, thereby supporting programme and operational activities. The incumbent will manage administrative processes, records, transactions, and logistics in line with UNICEF rules, procedures, and internal controls, contributing to business continuity and the overall efficiency of the office's operations in a demanding environment.
Responsibilities
The Administrative Associate will be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support to the Operations/Administration and Finance Unit. Key duties include managing administrative coordination, workflow, and general office management. This involves supporting budget monitoring and administrative planning to ensure financial adherence and operational readiness. The role requires providing travel, meetings, events, and logistics support to facilitate smooth operations. Additionally, the associate will assist with procurement, contracting, and vendor-related tasks, ensuring compliance with UNICEF procedures. Processing invoices, managing records, and following up on transactions are critical functions. Support for supplies, equipment, assets, and premises management is also required. The position will also involve attendance and team support to enhance overall unit efficiency and collaboration. This role is vital for maintaining business continuity and ensuring that all administrative functions are performed efficiently and in compliance with organizational standards.
Work Experience
A minimum of six years of progressively responsible administrative or clerical work experience is required. This experience should include office administration, travel, logistics, procurement support, invoice processing, records management, and/or budget monitoring.
