Job Purpose
UNICEF Honduras is seeking a Programme Officer (P-2) with project management experience to join the Education team. The role involves supporting the implementation, monitoring, reporting, and evaluation of project activities. This includes data analysis and progress reporting to achieve program goals and objectives. The officer will contribute to knowledge management for programs, ensure the optimal use of program funds, and apply a rights-based and results-based management approach. They will also focus on national and local capacity building, sustainability, rights perspective advocacy at various levels, and fostering partnerships and coordination. The position is crucial for advancing children's rights and well-being in Honduras through effective program delivery and strategic engagement.
Responsibilities
The Programme Officer will be responsible for the overall management of assigned education projects, ensuring their effective implementation, monitoring, and evaluation in line with UNICEF's strategic objectives and standards. This includes developing project work plans, budgets, and timelines, and ensuring timely delivery of outputs and outcomes. The role requires robust data analysis to inform decision-making, track progress, and identify areas for improvement. The officer will prepare regular progress reports, financial reports, and evaluations, ensuring compliance with donor and organizational requirements. A key responsibility is to foster national and local capacity building for sustainable program delivery and to advocate for children's rights at national, community, and family levels. The position also entails building and maintaining strong partnerships with government counterparts, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders to ensure effective coordination and collaboration. The officer will manage program funds optimally, ensuring efficient resource utilization and accountability. They will apply a rights-based and results-based management approach throughout all program activities, contributing to the overall goal of fulfilling the rights of every child in Honduras.
Work Experience
A minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional work experience in project management, preferably in social development or education, is required.
