Job Purpose

The Education Officer, reporting to the Education Specialist, provides professional technical, operational, and administrative support to the education programmes and projects. This role involves applying theoretical and technical skills in researching, collecting, analyzing, and presenting programme information. The incumbent will learn and adhere to organizational rules, regulations, and procedures to contribute to the development and formulation of the Education Programme within the Country Programme. The position is crucial for supporting programme development, planning, management, monitoring, and delivery of results, ensuring technical and operational support for implementation, and fostering networking, partnership building, innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building within the education sector.

Responsibilities

Support the development and planning of education programmes by conducting research, collecting data, and preparing relevant documentation. Manage and monitor education programmes, ensuring the delivery of results in line with UNICEF's strategic objectives and country programme goals. Provide technical and operational assistance throughout the programme implementation cycle, troubleshooting challenges and ensuring adherence to standards. Foster networking and partnership building with government counterparts, NGOs, and other stakeholders to enhance programme effectiveness and sustainability. Contribute to innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building initiatives within the education sector by sharing best practices and supporting learning. Assist in the preparation of programme reports, proposals, and other documentation as required. Ensure compliance with UNICEF's rules, regulations, and procedures in all aspects of programme support. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth programme operations and achieve desired outcomes for children's education.

Work Experience

A minimum of one year of professional experience in programme planning, management, and/or research in education is required.
