Job Purpose
The Procurement (Supply & Logistics) Associate plays a crucial role in managing UNICEF's supply chains, handling complex cases and client requests by evaluating difficult situations and adapting procedures. This independent function involves end-to-end supply chain management, from planning and procurement to in-country logistics, warehousing, and inventory management. The Associate contributes to supply chain strengthening for national/government supply chains, explores alternative delivery mechanisms, and supports localization efforts. The position also involves emergency preparedness, information and data management, and reporting, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of services to support UNICEF's mission for children.
Responsibilities
The Procurement (Supply & Logistics) Associate is responsible for performing highly skilled work within UNICEF's supply chains. Key duties include planning procurement activities, managing specialized procurement and contracting processes, and overseeing in-country logistics. The role also involves specialized warehousing and inventory management, fostering partnerships, coordination, and collaboration with stakeholders. A significant aspect is strengthening national and government supply chains through capacity building and support. The Associate will explore and implement alternative delivery mechanisms, procurement services, and supply financing options, contributing to localization efforts. Emergency preparedness and response in supply chain matters are also critical. Furthermore, the position requires robust information and data management, including reporting on supply chain activities. The Associate may also be assigned other related duties and responsibilities as needed to ensure the smooth operation of UNICEF's supply chain functions.
Work Experience
A minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience in Administration, Supply Management, Logistics, Procurement, Warehousing, Inventory Management, Contract Management, or Vendor Management is required.
