Job Purpose
The Education Officer will provide professional technical, operational, and administrative assistance for education and Early Childhood Development (ECD) programs in the Solomon Islands. This role supports the entire programming process, from development planning to results delivery. Key tasks include preparing, executing, reporting, managing, and implementing various technical and operational program activities to facilitate program development, partnerships, implementation, progress monitoring, evaluation, and reporting. The officer's efficiency and efficacy in supporting program preparation, planning, implementation, and monitoring will contribute to achieving sustainable results in improving learning outcomes and ensuring universal access to relevant, quality, equitable, and inclusive education in the Pacific.
Responsibilities
The Education Officer's responsibilities encompass supporting program development and planning, including contributing to situation analysis, goal setting, and results-based planning. They will assist in managing, monitoring, and delivering program results, ensuring timely implementation and identifying any issues. A key function is generating and analyzing education data, research, and evidence to inform decision-making. The role involves providing technical and operational support to program implementation, including conducting quality programmatic visits for program assurance. Additionally, the officer will be involved in networking and building partnerships with relevant stakeholders. Innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building within the education sector are also integral parts of the role, aiming to enhance program effectiveness and sustainability.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of professional work experience is required at the national and/or international levels in program planning, implementation, community engagement and mobilization, management, monitoring, and/or research in education or a directly related field.
