Job Purpose
The consultant will contribute to the analysis of existing policies and strategies, integrating the nexus approach into the policy and its action plan. This includes incorporating the first 2,000 days of life approach into the strategic orientations of the new PNSN, aligning with national priorities for malnutrition prevention and household resilience. The role involves strengthening multisectoral coordination mechanisms, establishing an accountability framework for key contributing sectors with measurable commitments from sectoral ministries, and developing a multisectoral monitoring and evaluation framework with nexus indicators.
Responsibilities
The consultant will develop a budgeted multisectoral action plan incorporating sustainable financing mechanisms and propose a communication, advocacy, and resource mobilization strategy. Key responsibilities include contributing to the analysis of existing policies and strategies, integrating the nexus approach into the policy and its action plan, and incorporating the first 2,000 days of life approach into the strategic orientations of the new PNSN, in line with national priorities for malnutrition prevention and household resilience. Additionally, the consultant will strengthen multisectoral coordination mechanisms, establish an accountability framework for key contributing sectors with measurable commitments from sectoral ministries, and develop a multisectoral monitoring and evaluation framework with nexus indicators. The role also entails elaborating a budgeted multisectoral action plan and proposing a communication, advocacy, and resource mobilization strategy.
Work Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in nutrition governance, confirmed experience in policy development, and experience in fragile contexts. Experience in Africa/Sahel is strongly desired.
