Job Purpose
The consultant will contribute to the analysis of existing policies and strategies, and integrate the nexus approach into the policy and its action plan. This includes integrating the approach of the first 2,000 days of life into the strategic orientations of the new PNSN, in line with national priorities for malnutrition prevention and household resilience strengthening. The role involves strengthening multi-sectoral coordination mechanisms and establishing an accountability framework for key contributing sectors, including measurable commitments from sectoral ministries. The consultant will also develop a multi-sectoral monitoring and evaluation framework with nexus indicators and a budgeted multi-sectoral action plan with sustainable financing mechanisms, alongside proposing a communication, advocacy, and resource mobilization strategy.
Responsibilities
Contribute to the analysis of existing policies and strategies. Integrate the nexus approach into the policy and its action plan. Integrate the approach of the first 2,000 days of life into the strategic orientations of the new PNSN, in coherence with national priorities for malnutrition prevention and household resilience strengthening. Strengthen multi-sectoral coordination mechanisms. Establish an accountability framework for key contributing sectors, including measurable commitments from sectoral ministries. Develop a multi-sectoral monitoring and evaluation framework integrating nexus indicators. Develop a budgeted multi-sectoral action plan integrating sustainable financing mechanisms. Propose a communication, advocacy, and resource mobilization strategy. The consultant will also be responsible for detailed deliverables and expected results as outlined in the full Terms of Reference.
Work Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in nutrition governance. Proven experience in policy development. Experience in fragile contexts. Experience in Africa/Sahel is highly desirable.
