Job Purpose
The Education Officer (Data and Systems) will play a key role in supporting the Sindh Education and Literacy Department (SELD) and UNICEF to institutionalize data-driven governance, strengthen monitoring and evaluation systems, and ensure that digital investments translate into improved service delivery, enhanced accountability, and sustained gains in learning outcomes across the province. The Officer will lead the planning and implementation of education data digitization and systems integration initiatives, with a strong emphasis on building SELD's institutional capacity and government ownership of data infrastructure, systems, and processes. This role is crucial given the increasing scale and complexity of education data, digital platforms, and results-based management requirements under SCG, STG, and UNICEF's broader Education Programme in Sindh.
Responsibilities
The Education Officer (Data and Systems) will be responsible for Technical Programme Planning and Systems Assessment, evaluating existing education data systems and identifying areas for improvement. They will provide Technical and Operational Support to Programme Implementation, ensuring that data systems are effectively integrated and utilized. The role involves Programme Monitoring, Reporting, and Results Management, focusing on the quality and use of education data for decision-making. A significant aspect is fostering Government Ownership, Networking, and Partnership Building with SELD and other stakeholders to ensure sustainability and local capacity. Furthermore, the Officer will drive Innovation, Knowledge Management, and Capacity Development, promoting best practices in education data management and systems, and building the skills of relevant personnel. The position requires travel to Sindh districts for programme implementation and monitoring.
Work Experience
At least 2 years of professional experience in Programme Planning, Management, and/or Research in Education is required. Relevant experience in education data analysis, management information systems, and monitoring systems is also required.
