Job Purpose

The increasing scale and complexity of education data, digital platforms, and results-based management requirements necessitate dedicated technical capacity within UNICEF to support system design, data integration, quality assurance, analytics, and effective use of education data for decision-making. Under the supervision of the Education Manager (P4), the Education Officer (Data and Systems) will play a key role in supporting SELD and UNICEF to institutionalize data-driven governance, strengthen monitoring and evaluation systems, and ensure that digital investments translate into improved service delivery, enhanced accountability, and sustained gains in learning outcomes across the province. The Officer will lead the planning and implementation of education data digitization and systems integration initiatives, with a strong emphasis on building SELD's institutional capacity and government ownership of data infrastructure, systems, and processes.

Responsibilities

The Education Officer (Data & Systems) will be responsible for Technical Programme Planning and Systems Assessment, providing Technical and Operational Support to Programme Implementation, and undertaking Programme Monitoring, Reporting, and Results Management. The role also involves fostering Government Ownership, Networking, and Partnership Building, as well as driving Innovation, Knowledge Management, and Capacity Development. The position requires travel to Sindh districts as part of programme implementation and monitoring. The officer will support SELD and UNICEF in institutionalizing data-driven governance, strengthening M&E systems, and ensuring digital investments improve service delivery, accountability, and learning outcomes.
