Job Purpose

The Operations Manager, based in Bunia, Democratic Republic of Congo, provides strategic leadership, coordination, and oversight for all operational functions, including Supply Chain, Finance, Administration, Risk Management, and ICT, specifically for the Ebola response. The role ensures that operational systems are agile, risk-informed, and responsive to emergency needs, facilitating the timely delivery of supplies, rapid deployment, and well-being of personnel. The incumbent advises the Ebola Coordination team on efficient operational approaches, operational risks, governance, resource optimization, and systems strengthening, ensuring alignment with the emergency response plan and simplified emergency procedures.

Responsibilities

The Operations Manager is responsible for strategic operations leadership, ensuring effective and efficient management of all operational aspects of the Ebola response. This includes overseeing administration and field operations, managing financial resources in compliance with regulations, and ensuring robust supply chain, logistics, and service delivery mechanisms are in place. The role also involves establishing and maintaining strong internal controls and managing emergency risks to safeguard organizational assets and ensure operational continuity. The incumbent will work to optimize resource allocation, strengthen operational systems, and provide critical support to the emergency response plan, adapting to the complex and evolving context of the Ebola outbreak in the DRC.

Work Experience

Eight (8) years of professional work experience in finance and accounting management, with a portion acquired at the international level.
