Job Purpose
The Security Guard will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment within UNHCR premises and ensuring the safety of staff, visitors, and assets. Responsibilities
The Security Guard will be tasked with a range of duties to ensure the security and safety of UNHCR facilities and personnel. This includes controlling access to the premises, verifying the identity of individuals entering and exiting, and escorting visitors as required. The Security Guard will conduct regular patrols of the office and its surroundings to detect and report any suspicious activities or security breaches. They will monitor surveillance systems, such as CCTV, and respond promptly to alarms or security alerts. In the event of an emergency, such as a fire or medical incident, the Security Guard will follow established emergency procedures, including evacuation protocols and first aid if trained. They will also be responsible for maintaining security logs, incident reports, and other relevant documentation. The Security Guard will assist in enforcing security policies and regulations, ensuring that all staff and visitors comply with security measures. This role may also involve assisting with the security screening of mail and packages and maintaining the security of equipment and property within the office premises. The Security Guard will work closely with the security team to implement the security plan and contribute to a safe working environment.
Work Experience
A minimum of one year of experience as a security guard or in a related security role is required. Experience in a multicultural environment or with an international organization is an asset.
