Organizational Context

UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, is dedicated to fostering peace, eradicating poverty, and promoting sustainable development through education, science, culture, communication, and information. The UNESCO Regional Office for South Asia in New Delhi manages programmes and partnerships across India and neighboring countries, collaborating with governments and civil society. The Communications and Public Engagement (CPE) unit enhances the visibility of UNESCO's work through digital content, event coverage, and brand management across all program sectors.

Job Purpose

The UNESCO Regional Office for South Asia seeks qualified individuals and agencies to join a Creative Services Roster for Video Editing. Rostered candidates will be engaged on an 'on-call' basis to provide post-production support for the organization's digital and social media content needs. The primary objective is to create high-quality, platform-optimized videos, including short reels and longer formats, from raw footage. This role is crucial for enhancing the visibility and impact of UNESCO's initiatives across the South Asia region by producing engaging video content that aligns with UNESCO's mandate and communication strategies.

Responsibilities

Receive raw footage and project briefs from UNESCO to produce edited video content for various social media platforms (Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, X/Twitter, LinkedIn) and longer digital formats. Assemble edited sequences based on scripts, storyboards, or UNESCO's direction, recommending pacing and visual elements. Create short-form social media content optimized for specific platforms in terms of duration, aspect ratio, and format. Apply essential post-production techniques including color correction, grading, audio editing, synchronization, sound mixing, subtitling, captioning, and motion graphics. Ensure all visual content adheres to UNESCO's Graphic Standards and Logo Toolkit, and includes the designated video outro. Integrate UNESCO's gender strategy by ensuring gender-balanced representation in edited outputs. Comply with international copyright policy, avoiding the use of third-party assets without proper licensing. Submit initial edits for review, incorporate feedback, and deliver final ready-to-publish files in MP4 format along with editable source files. Meet all committed deadlines and promptly report any anticipated delays.

Work Experience

A minimum of three years of demonstrable professional experience in video editing is essential. This experience must include a proven track record in producing video content specifically for social media platforms. Experience working with institutional communications or within the development sector is considered an asset.

Skills

Proficiency in industry-standard video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro is necessary. Demonstrated experience in creating social media video content for platforms like Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and LinkedIn, including reels and shorts, is required. A strong understanding of post-production workflows, color grading, audio mixing, and multi-format export is essential. Familiarity with motion graphics software and experience with subtitle/caption integration are advantageous. The ability to manage large media files and work efficiently under tight deadlines is also important.
