Organizational Context
The UNESCO Regional Office in Santiago hosts the Latin American Laboratory for the Assessment of the Quality of Education (LLECE), a collaborative network of 18 member countries. LLECE's mission is to monitor student learning progress in the region, providing reliable data for decision-making and supporting capacity development through experience exchange. With over 30 years of experience, LLECE implements large-scale assessments, contributing to evidence-based policy discussions on educational improvement and innovation.
Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to provide technical support for the delivery of regional results from the 2025 Regional Comparative and Explanatory Study (ERCE). The consultant will contribute to the analysis of ERCE 2025 data, focusing on learning outcomes, associated factors, socio-emotional skills, and writing. A key responsibility will be to develop various communication products, such as presentations, minutes, and briefs, tailored for different regional and national audiences. The role involves creating clear and precise data visualizations and deepening analyses based on the obtained results. The consultant will also support the finalization of publications and dissemination materials for ERCE 2025 and other LLECE initiatives, providing overall technical assistance to the laboratory as needed.
Responsibilities
Contribute to the analysis of ERCE 2025 data, including learning achievements, associated factors, socio-emotional skills, and writing, generating necessary reviews and data analyses for various publications. Develop diverse communication products for the regional and national dissemination of ERCE 2025 results, such as presentations, minutes, and briefs, ensuring they are adapted to different audiences. Create clear and precise data visualizations based on the ERCE results. Conduct in-depth analyses of the obtained results and systematize information for different result delivery formats. Support the review and finalization of ERCE 2025 publications and dissemination materials, as well as other laboratory initiatives. Provide technical support to LLECE on related processes and assist with other LLECE activities based on institutional needs and availability.
Work Experience
At least 5 years of professional experience in data analysis and delivery of results from large-scale assessments. Experience working with educational assessment institutions, ministries of education, or research centers is advantageous.
Skills
Proficiency in educational assessment analysis and utilization of results. Experience with databases. Proven experience in delivering results from national and/or international educational assessments. Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially in professional and cross-cultural contexts. Strong planning and organizational abilities. Fluency in Spanish.
