The UNESCO Regional Office in Santiago, part of the United Nations for Latin America and the Caribbean, hosts the Latin American Laboratory for Assessment and Quality in Education (LLECE). LLECE actively engages 18 member countries, focusing on monitoring student learning progress and generating reliable data for decision-making. It also supports the development of evaluation capacities through regional experience exchange. With over 30 years of experience, LLECE fosters collaborative, South-South cooperation, leveraging large-scale assessments to inform educational policy and innovation.
Job Purpose
This consultancy supports the Latin American Laboratory for Assessment and Quality in Education (LLECE) in generating crucial reports for South American countries. The role involves contributing to the finalization of the ERCE 2025 curricular analysis, covering both disciplinary areas and transformative education aspects. Additionally, the consultant will assist in the delivery process of ERCE 2025 results and support the second phase of the regional study on good practices in outstanding educational centers. The primary goal is to effectively collaborate with LLECE in producing, publishing, and disseminating these key reports, ensuring that decision-makers and educational stakeholders have access to valuable, evidence-based information to inform educational policies and practices across the region.
Responsibilities
The consultant will provide support for the ERCE 2025 results delivery process, contributing to regional and national reports on learning, associated factors, socio-emotional skills, and writing. This includes developing executive summaries, regional reports, and national reports for assigned countries, in coordination with another consultant. The role involves collaborating on the editing and design of national reports, coordinating the collection of supplementary educational policy information, and preparing result presentations and brief dissemination documents for various stakeholders, including school system actors and teachers. Furthermore, the consultant will support the publication and dissemination of ERCE 2025 curricular analysis reports, providing technical assistance for regional and national reports, reviewing country feedback, and preparing communication materials. The consultant will also assist in the implementation phase of the regional study on good practices in educational centers, coordinating with LLECE and participating countries, providing technical assistance, systematizing good practices, and supporting the review and publication of an integrated regional report.
Work Experience
A minimum of 8 years of demonstrated professional experience in educational evaluation. Proven experience in developing and publishing reports at both national and international levels. Experience in coordinating and managing educational projects at national or international levels is also required.
Skills
Proficiency in data interpretation and synthesis, particularly for educational studies and learning assessments. Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and collaboration tools. Excellent written communication skills for professional material development. Ability to adapt complex content for diverse audiences. Interpersonal skills for collaborative work in multidisciplinary and intercultural settings. Adaptability to changing priorities and programming. Fluency in Spanish is essential.
