Organizational Context
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Brazil is collaborating with the National Council of Justice (CNJ) on the "Justiça 4.0" program. This initiative aims to digitally transform the Brazilian Judiciary by developing and enhancing technological solutions to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and accessibility of judicial services. The role is part of the Data Intelligence project within this program.
Job Purpose
This role is crucial for the "Justiça 4.0" program's Data Intelligence project, focusing on structuring judicial data. The primary purpose is to implement and promote the use of DataJud and Codex, and to produce diagnostics and transparency dashboards. The position will work closely with CNJ and UNDP teams to clean and qualify the National Judicial Database (DataJud). This contributes to making Brazilian judicial services more efficient, effective, and accessible, aligning with the UN's Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda.
Responsibilities
The Data Scientist will be responsible for data engineering and treatment, including extracting, cleaning, and structuring large volumes of data from various CNJ sources to ensure consistency. This includes diagnosing and improving data quality by identifying and correcting inconsistencies, anomalies, and errors, and designing scalable solutions for continuous improvement. The role involves analyzing data to produce reports, dashboards, and visualizations that effectively communicate descriptive statistics and insights. Additionally, the Data Scientist will develop and apply statistical and predictive models to support decision-making and contribute to complex diagnostics. Technical support and knowledge transfer to CNJ and UNDP teams, including validating project deliverables, are also key responsibilities.
Work Experience
Candidates with a Master's degree in a relevant field do not require prior professional experience. Those with a Bachelor's degree must have at least two years of experience in data extraction, treatment, structuring, and analysis, including handling large datasets, identifying and resolving inconsistencies, and creating reports and dashboards.
