Organizational Context

The UNDP in Tunisia, aligned with its Country Programme (2021-2025) and ODD16+ portfolio lessons, has developed a new initiative focused on governance as a driver for socio-economic development. This program engages national partners, institutions, civil society, and the private sector to foster accountable and effective governance, aiming to accelerate progress towards Tunisia's Vision 2035 and National Development Plan.

Job Purpose

The Administrative Associate will provide crucial support to the UNDP's governance portfolio in Tunisia. This role is integral to the effective and timely implementation of program activities, ensuring adherence to UNDP procedures, standards, and quality benchmarks. The incumbent will manage administrative and logistical aspects, support financial management, and contribute to project planning and reporting. By facilitating smooth operations and coordinating with stakeholders, the Administrative Associate directly contributes to achieving the portfolio's expected results in enhancing transparency, accountability, and inclusive development, ultimately supporting Tunisia's sustainable development goals.

Responsibilities

The Administrative Associate is responsible for supporting the timely and effective implementation of the portfolio's activities in line with the annual work plan. This includes planning and organizing activities, providing administrative and logistical support, and monitoring contractor performance. The role involves coordinating meetings, events, and site visits, as well as preparing contributions for reports and communications materials. Additionally, the Associate will manage project documentation, prepare contracts and terms of reference, and input data into the Quantum project management module. Support extends to the recruitment process for experts and consultants, financial management including budget tracking and reporting, and procurement procedures. The position also facilitates knowledge sharing and supports administrative training within the office.

Work Experience

A minimum of five years of progressively responsible administrative or programmatic support experience is required. Experience in a UN or international organization setting is highly desirable. Proven experience in event organization, financial management, and project support is essential.
