Job Purpose
The Project Analyst provides technical and managerial support for the implementation, monitoring, and coordination of Project BRA/24/008 and other projects in Rio de Janeiro. The role ensures effective project delivery according to UNDP and donor requirements, contributing expertise, stakeholder engagement, and strategic input to expand UNDP’s work in thematic areas. This involves managing day-to-day activities, optimizing resource use, ensuring timely and high-quality outputs, and facilitating inclusive platforms for project implementation. The incumbent will also support resource mobilization and project development, ensuring alignment with UNDP policies and promoting gender equality.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include coordinating effective project planning and implementation, developing work plans and budgets, and managing daily activities to achieve project objectives. This involves providing technical advice, ensuring timely delivery of outputs within budget, and facilitating inclusive stakeholder platforms. The role requires operational management of the portfolio, including procurement and resource management. Establishing and maintaining strong partnerships with government, civil society, and the private sector is crucial. Monitoring progress against targets, analyzing risks, and preparing corporate and donor reports are essential. Facilitating knowledge sharing, capacity building, and advocacy, and leading/developing the project team to foster a positive and innovative work environment are also key duties. Ensuring effective financial management, budget planning, and control is also required.
Work Experience
A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required for candidates with a Master's degree, or 4 years for those with a Bachelor's degree. This experience should be in project management and implementation of technical cooperation projects, with multi-level public policy coordination in areas such as sustainability, water resources, circular and blue economy, governance, and SDG localization in Rio de Janeiro.
