This role operates within the Democratic Governance Portfolio, supporting initiatives for vulnerable groups.

Job Purpose

The Project Manager will oversee the day-to-day management, coordination, and supervision of project implementation within UNDP Georgia's Democratic Governance Portfolio. This involves ensuring efficient project execution according to UNDP rules and regulations, developing work plans and budgets, and monitoring activities. The role contributes to strengthening democratic governance, human rights, and the inclusion of vulnerable populations by guiding project teams, providing policy and technical advice, managing resources, and fostering partnerships. The ultimate aim is to support initiatives that promote equality, civic participation, and community resilience in Georgia, aligning with national priorities and international standards.

Responsibilities

The Project Manager is responsible for the overall project management, including developing annual work plans, budgets, and procurement plans, and ensuring close monitoring of activities and delivery. This includes leading and motivating the project team, managing financial allocations, approving expenditures, and ensuring compliance with UNDP rules and regulations. The role involves providing conceptual and technical guidance to the project team and counterparts on initiatives related to equality, inclusion, youth engagement, and human rights, and contributing to policy development. Key duties also include monitoring project progress using RBM tools, managing risks, ensuring timely reporting, conducting field visits, and facilitating knowledge management and gender mainstreaming. Additionally, the Project Manager will establish and maintain partnerships with stakeholders and participate in relevant coordination platforms and events.

Work Experience

A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience is required with a Master's degree, or 4 years with a Bachelor's degree. Experience should focus on implementing projects related to equality, inclusion, human rights, and empowering vulnerable groups, including work with specific demographics and civil society organizations.
