The UNDP Djibouti Country Office implements a Country Programme 2025-2030 focused on Governance, Social Cohesion, Economic Diversification, and Climate Change Resilience, aligning with national development priorities and the SDGs.
Job Purpose
This internship offers participants a rich professional immersion into UNDP operations, contributing to key office activities in communication, programmatic support, and IT operations. The program aims to enhance students' academic experience through practical application within UNDP projects in Djibouti. Interns will gain familiarity with a multilateral organization's work environment and deepen their understanding of UNDP's objectives and actions in the country. The role supports the acceleration of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by addressing development challenges, climate risks, and promoting inclusive financing and institutional capacity building.
Responsibilities
The internship encompasses three main areas: Communication, Programme Management, and IT Support. In Communication, responsibilities include content creation for print and digital media, social media management, multimedia production, event coverage, campaign support, website updates, partnership support, drafting communications, and knowledge management. In Programme Management, tasks involve document preparation, event logistics, administrative support, internal/external communication, data collection, and cross-unit collaboration. For IT Support, duties include operational support for hardware/software installation and maintenance, user assistance, system testing, technical documentation, asset management, and collaboration on IT projects.
Work Experience
No specific work experience is explicitly required, but the internship is designed to provide practical experience. Candidates should possess a strong command of MS Office. Knowledge of English is an asset, while French proficiency is required.
