Organizational Context
UN Women Myanmar's REACH Office implements the "Women's Resilience, Empowerment, Access, Capacities and Human Rights" project. This initiative aims to address the needs of GBV survivors and at-risk women by enhancing their resilience through integrated livelihoods and GBV prevention interventions. The project focuses on improving access to livelihood opportunities and strengthening community support for women's socio-economic participation and GBV prevention. It also works to empower women's rights organizations.
Job Purpose
The Project Manager will lead and manage the UN Women REACH project, responsible for its planning, implementation, and overall management. This role involves ensuring the effective delivery of project activities, managing resources, and ensuring compliance with UN Women rules and donor requirements. The Project Manager will collaborate with country office teams, regional offices, UN Women HQ, donors, and civil society stakeholders to ensure successful project implementation and achieve outcomes related to women's resilience, economic empowerment, and GBV prevention.
Responsibilities
Lead the UN Women REACH project, including planning, implementing, and monitoring annual workplans and budgets. Manage day-to-day project activities to ensure timely achievement of results and effective resource utilization. Oversee project audits and support governance mechanisms. Design and manage women's economic empowerment activities, linking them with GBV prevention efforts and market opportunities. Provide technical support to partners and stakeholders, building strong relationships for project expansion. Manage project budgets and financial resources, ensuring compliance with donor and UN Women procedures. Supervise, coach, and mentor project staff, managing performance and capacity building. Support resource mobilization efforts to secure additional funding. Build and manage partnerships, ensuring effective implementation of agreements and reporting. Develop and implement knowledge management strategies, synthesizing best practices and lessons learned for communication and advocacy.
Work Experience
Requires at least 5 years of progressive experience in project management, including design, planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and donor reporting. Experience in gender, women's economic empowerment, vulnerable women/girls, and integrated livelihoods is essential. Experience in establishing partnerships, leading teams, and using computer software packages is required. Experience in TVET, GBV, human rights, UN systems, and the specific country/region is desirable.
