The Country Office prioritizes integrated programming, women's movement building, policy research, economic resilience, and humanitarian response. It operates through a main office in Kabul and five sub-offices, with the Integrated Programming Unit (IPU) playing a key role in coordinating services and projects.
Job Purpose
The Programme Associate supports the Integrated Programming Unit (IPU) in developing and implementing effective UN Women programmes in Afghanistan. This role contributes to research, financial management, and overall programme implementation, providing essential operational, administrative, and programmatic support. The Associate collaborates closely with internal teams, finance, operations, and relevant UN Women offices to ensure coherent and results-focused programme delivery, particularly within the context of integrated services, humanitarian action, and women's empowerment initiatives.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive administrative and programmatic support for the formulation and management of the Integrated Programme Unit, including workplans, budgets, and proposals. Compile and organize documentation for programme implementation, monitoring, reporting, and audits. Support programme teams and partners with routine administrative requirements and track programme actions and deadlines. Offer administrative and financial management support, including project creation, budget monitoring, and processing payments. Coordinate logistical, administrative, and financial arrangements for meetings, workshops, and missions, and process travel arrangements. Assist in resource mobilization by compiling supporting documentation for donor agreements and tracking contributions. Contribute to knowledge building by compiling lessons learned and supporting training initiatives for personnel and partners.
Work Experience
A minimum of six years of progressive experience in administration or programme management/support is required. Proficiency in computer environments with multiple office software packages is essential. Experience with ERP systems like Oracle Cloud, supporting teams, and event management is desirable.
