Graphic Designer
Organizational Context
UN Women Ukraine Country Office seeks a Graphic Designer to enhance visibility for its initiatives. The role supports the Communications and Advocacy team by creating high-quality visual materials for social media and print, aligning with UN Women's branding and visibility rules. This is a retainer-based consultancy, engaged as needed.
Job Purpose
The Graphic Designer will be instrumental in elevating UN Women Ukraine's communication efforts by producing compelling visual content. This role supports the visibility of successful initiatives, results, and programs, while raising awareness on gender equality and women's empowerment. The designer will create graphic images, GIFs, and layouts for various knowledge products, ensuring all visual materials adhere to UN Women's branding and visibility standards for both online and offline use. The position contributes to effective communication strategies that underscore UN Women's mission and impact.
Responsibilities
Conceptualize, design, and prepare external visibility products, including branding assets, reports, leaflets, presentations, and social media graphics (key visuals, GIFs, infographics). Advise the communications team and partners on current graphic design trends and review partner designs. Create innovative and attention-grabbing materials for web, social media, and print, adhering to UN Women and partner branding requirements. Design visuals for key findings of surveys and research, advocacy materials, and promotional content. Select and manage stock images. Liaise with printing facilities and ensure quality control. Modify designs as needed and prepare final files for distribution. Produce and edit video content, including subtitling, as required. Ensure all designs align with UN Women's branding guidelines and identity standards.
Work Experience
Requires at least two years of professional experience in animation, graphic design, and layout. Experience developing communications materials on gender is an asset. Proficiency in Adobe Suite/CC (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects) and understanding of printing processes are essential. Ability to research, analyze, and present complex information is also needed.
