The organization works to eliminate discrimination, violence against women and girls, and enhance women's leadership and economic autonomy. This consultancy supports efforts to integrate gender perspectives into municipal planning and management.
Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to provide technical assistance to selected Municipal Autonomous Governments in the Valles region of Bolivia. The purpose is to strengthen their institutional capacities to integrate gender equality, human rights, and violence prevention approaches into municipal planning, management, normative development, program implementation, and response mechanisms. The role contributes to the UN Women 'Safe Cities and Safe Public Spaces for Women and Girls' initiative, addressing the root causes of gender inequality and violence in public spaces.
Responsibilities
The consultant will provide specialized technical assistance and methodological support to municipal governments in Cliza, Sacaba, El Puente, San Benito, and San Lorenzo. Key responsibilities include reviewing and analyzing municipal planning instruments, normative frameworks, and institutional mechanisms related to gender equality and violence prevention. The consultant will also strengthen institutional tools for preventing sexual harassment and other forms of violence in public spaces, develop recommendations for gender-sensitive policies and budgets, and foster inter-institutional coordination. This involves developing diagnostic reports, roadmaps for technical strengthening, and strategies for the sustainability of implemented actions to institutionalize violence prevention efforts.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in gender equality, violence against women prevention, or local governance is required. Experience in providing technical assistance to government institutions, particularly at the municipal level, and in developing policy or programmatic recommendations is essential. Familiarity with the Bolivian context is highly desirable.
