Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to provide technical assistance to selected Municipal Autonomous Governments in the Andes region of Bolivia. The purpose is to strengthen their institutional capacities to integrate gender equality, human rights, and violence prevention approaches into municipal planning, management, and normative development. The role will contribute to preventing sexual harassment and other forms of violence against women and girls in public spaces, fostering safer and more inclusive urban environments.
Responsibilities
Provide technical assistance to prioritized Municipal Autonomous Governments in the Andes region to strengthen institutional capacities for integrating gender equality, human rights, and violence prevention into municipal planning and management. Design and update municipal tools for preventing and addressing sexual harassment and violence in public spaces, including participatory diagnostics and insecurity maps. Develop technical recommendations for incorporating gender perspective into municipal planning and management processes, supporting gender-sensitive programs, actions, and investments. Strengthen inter-institutional coordination mechanisms between municipalities, public institutions, and social organizations to improve comprehensive responses to violence against women and girls. Promote the adoption of the "Safe Cities and Safe Public Spaces for Women and Girls" approach in municipal management, enhancing local government capacities to identify risks and improve urban safety conditions.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in gender equality, violence against women prevention, or related fields is required. Experience working with local governments, public institutions, and civil society organizations in Bolivia or similar contexts is highly desirable. Proven experience in technical assistance, capacity building, and policy/program development is essential.
