Organizational Context

UN Women Uzbekistan is implementing the Global Accelerator on Decent Jobs and Social Protection for Just Transitions, an initiative to address crises, accelerate economic recovery, and invest in decent jobs and social protection. The project focuses on creating decent work for women through strategic investments in key economic sectors and social protection systems, aiming for formalization, youth employment, gender equality, and green transitions.

Job Purpose

This consultancy aims to support the Global Accelerator initiative in Uzbekistan by researching mechanisms for recognizing and formalizing domestic and care work. The role involves adapting UN Women's core Care training modules to the local context, aligning them with Uzbekistan's care system reforms. The consultant will co-facilitate training sessions, integrate study findings on formalizing domestic and care work, and design assessment tools to measure learning outcomes, contributing to gender equality and decent job creation in the care sector.

Responsibilities

Adapt UN Women’s core Care training modules to the local context of Uzbekistan, ensuring alignment with recent developments in the national care system and reforms led by relevant ministries. Revise the training concept note and develop a detailed training agenda. Co-facilitate selected training sessions in Uzbek and/or Russian, working in close coordination with an international expert. Integrate key findings and recommendations from the study 'Formalizing Domestic and Care Work in Uzbekistan: Pathways for Gender Equality and Decent Jobs' into the training modules. Design pre- and post-training questionnaires to assess participants' baseline knowledge and measure learning outcomes. Prepare a concise training report summarizing the implementation process, discussions, outcomes, participant feedback, lessons learned, and recommendations for future capacity-building initiatives.

Work Experience

Proven experience in conducting training, developing concept papers, policy documents, methodologies, and guidelines. Extensive experience in gender, labour relations, decent work, macroeconomics, and gender equality. At least two years of demonstrated expertise in women's economic empowerment. Strong knowledge and professional experience in the Europe and Central Asia (ECA) Region. Computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point).
