Job Purpose
The Programme Specialist will support the Head of the Planning, Reporting and Monitoring Unit (PMRU) in ensuring effective planning, monitoring, and reporting for UN Women's Regional Office portfolio. This involves applying Results-Based Management (RBM) tools, refining results frameworks, leading data collection and analysis for reporting, and providing technical assistance to country offices and RO units. The role also includes supporting programme development, project appraisal, and facilitating knowledge management to enhance gender equality and women's empowerment initiatives across the Asia-Pacific region.
Responsibilities
Provide technical assistance for planning, monitoring, and reporting, ensuring effective application of RBM tools and achievement of results. Refine Integrated Result and Resource Frameworks (IRRF) and lead reviews of indicators, baselines, and targets. Coordinate six-monthly and annual reporting processes, ensuring quality and providing feedback. Analyze reports to identify trends and concerns, advising senior management. Offer capacity-building support in planning, monitoring, and RBM to regional and country offices. Ensure alignment between strategic notes/work plans and new projects, and provide technical assistance for performance monitoring systems. Support project appraisal processes and conduct donor report reviews for timely and quality submissions. Facilitate knowledge building by synthesizing best practices and lessons learned, and contribute to corporate initiatives.
Work Experience
Requires at least 5 years of progressive international experience in corporate-level planning, monitoring, and reporting, as well as development projects/programmes. Experience in gender equality and women's empowerment is advantageous. Experience within the UN system and field experience are desirable.
