This initiative aims to promote an integrated and gender-sensitive care system, recognizing care as a vital public good essential for societal and economic development.
Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to provide expert legal counsel for the development of a national reform agenda concerning care work policies and legal frameworks. The consultant will contribute to establishing an integrated and gender-sensitive care system, acknowledging the societal and economic importance of care. This involves analyzing existing legal structures, identifying reform needs, and formulating concrete measures to advance the care economy. This includes conducting necessary research on relevant legal and regulatory frameworks to inform the reform agenda. The consultant will contribute to the preparation and facilitation of a national consultation workshop, including developing input materials and moderating sessions. A key duty is to prepare a detailed plan for the reform agenda, outlining its components based on a provided structure. Finally, the consultant will draft the reform agenda itself, following validation of the plan by ESCWA and UN Women.
Work Experience
A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in legal consulting for the development of public policies and/or national state programs and/or sustainable development programs is required. Experience working with governmental institutions, international organizations, or civil society organizations is also necessary.
