Comments should be added to highlight mistranslated words or phrases. The focus will be on errors affecting meaning or specific legal, scientific, and technical terms. Maintaining United Nations and UNEP terminology and ensuring vocabulary consistency are crucial. The contractor is responsible for verifying terminology and quotation accuracy, and must seek clarification from the Information Systems Officer for any text ambiguity.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of experience in Russian editing within the UN or similar intergovernmental organizations is required. Three years of experience translating or editing documents from English to Russian for the UN, an international tribunal, or an organization dealing with legal matters is desirable. Fluency in English and Russian is required. Proficiency in another UN official language is desirable. Strong editing and translation skills, particularly in legal, scientific, and technical terminology. Familiarity with UN and UNEP terminology and style guides. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Excellent attention to detail.
