Intern - Cybersecurity
Organizational Context
The International Court of Justice (ICJ), the principal judicial organ of the UN, is located in The Hague. Unlike other UN principal organs, it is not serviced by the UN Secretariat but has its own administration, the Registry. This internship within the Information and Communications Technology Division offers hands-on experience in cybersecurity.
Job Purpose
This internship aims to provide practical experience in cybersecurity within the International Court of Justice's Registry. The intern will support the Information Systems Officer (Cybersecurity) by contributing to various cybersecurity tasks. This includes assisting with documentation, developing awareness materials, providing basic user support, and aiding in the delivery of cybersecurity services. The role also involves participating in reviews, testing, and ensuring proper logging and tracking of cybersecurity requests and vulnerabilities, thereby contributing to the overall security posture of the Court.
Responsibilities
Assist in creating cybersecurity-related documents, templates, and presentations in collaboration with the technical team. Support the development and review of cybersecurity awareness materials. Provide basic technical support to users as needed. Contribute to the delivery of cybersecurity services, including operations, architecture, risk management, and identity and access management. Participate in the review of documents, training sessions, testing activities, and resilience exercises. Ensure all cybersecurity requests are logged, tracked, resolved, documented, and closed in the ticketing system. Assist the Cybersecurity Operations team in reviewing and tracking identified vulnerabilities. Support the use and maintenance of cybersecurity applications and tools. Perform other assigned cybersecurity tasks.
Work Experience
No professional work experience is required for this internship. However, a high degree of initiative, dependability, and the ability to work with minimal supervision are considered advantageous.
