Job Purpose

The Vocational Education Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting UNRWA's mission by coordinating and overseeing intervention cycles for vocational education projects, including on-the-job training and placement services. This involves conducting market surveys to identify in-demand specializations and establishing employer networks to secure vacancies. The incumbent will advertise and register applicants for technical courses, communicate available opportunities to trainees, and monitor course progress and evaluation. A key responsibility is maintaining an up-to-date database of course statistics and employment outcomes, reporting findings to TVET management, and collecting success stories to demonstrate program impact. The role contributes directly to the human development of Palestine refugees by enhancing their employability and skills.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and oversee the intervention cycle for vocational education projects, integrating on-the-job training and placement services. Conduct market surveys to identify needed specializations and establish a network with employers to identify available vacancies. Advertise and register applicants for vocational technical courses, and inform trainees about job openings. Monitor the progress and evaluate the effectiveness of short-term courses. Establish and maintain an up-to-date database, preparing progress reports on conducted courses and employment statistics for TVET management. Collect success stories to highlight program achievements. Perform other assigned duties as required to support the vocational education program.

Work Experience

Requires at least two years of experience in an educational project, community-based project, or youth project. Additionally, a minimum of two years of experience in office practices is necessary. Candidates must also indicate current involvement in outside activities, as specified in the application requirements.
