Its mission involves policy design, monitoring, evaluation, and advisory services. This internship is within the Statistics Division in Santiago.
Job Purpose
This internship within the Statistics Division of ECLAC in Santiago aims to contribute to research on the relevance of official statistics for democracy. The intern will support the division's work by assisting in data collection, validation, and cleaning. They will also aid in preparing external sector reports, including balance of payments, trade statistics, and national accounts. Furthermore, the role involves contributing to the maintenance and organization of statistical databases and collaborating on special projects or ad-hoc tasks related to economic statistics, providing valuable support to the division's analytical and reporting functions.
Responsibilities
Assist in data collection, validation, and cleaning processes for economic statistics. Support the preparation of external sector reports, focusing on balance of payments, trade statistics, and national accounts. Contribute to the maintenance and organization of statistical databases. Collaborate with team members on special projects and ad-hoc tasks related to economic statistics. Ensure accuracy and integrity of data used in reports and analyses. Participate in research activities concerning the role of official statistics in democratic processes.
Work Experience
Professional work experience is not required for this internship. However, applicants must be pursuing or have completed a degree in a field closely related to economic statistics or commercial engineering. The focus is on academic background and relevant coursework rather than prior professional roles.
