Organizational Context

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) is a UN organization established in 1949 to assist and protect approximately 5.8 million registered Palestine refugees across Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, the West Bank, and Gaza. UNRWA provides essential services including education, healthcare, and social services, operating as the largest UN entity in the Middle East with over 30,000 staff. This role reports to the Senior TVET Instructor or Deputy Principal of the Training Centre.

Job Purpose

This Vocational Training Instructor role is crucial for supporting the design, development, and delivery of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) programs in Central Heating & Plumbing. The incumbent will contribute to curriculum development, facilitate hands-on learning experiences, and conduct assessments to ensure trainees acquire necessary occupational skills. A key aspect involves integrating new technologies, career guidance, and core skills for life and work into the training. The role also supports maintaining industry linkages, applying quality assurance frameworks, and promoting green and digital initiatives within the training programs, ultimately helping Palestine refugees achieve their full potential in human development.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include supporting the design and development of learning programs and curricula, conducting occupational analyses, and integrating new technologies. The instructor will facilitate school-based and work-based learning, utilizing facilities and equipment effectively, and employing adult learning strategies, including support for trainees with disabilities and special needs. This involves preparing inclusive training plans and mainstreaming Occupational Health and Safety (OSH) and core skills. The role also entails preparing and conducting formative and summative assessments, developing assessment tools, and maintaining linkages with employers and industry professionals. Additionally, the instructor will apply quality assurance processes, support TVET greening and digitalization initiatives, and collaborate with colleagues to maintain a respectful and disciplined learning environment, while supporting OSH measures.
